Stanford大学にてCenter for Molecular Neuroscience発足に当たり、4月20日にシンポジウムが行われました。柚崎はノーベル賞学者Thomas Sudhofに呼んでいただき、Keynote addressを行いました。このCenter for Molecular Neuroscienceはvirtualな組織であり、これまで長く続いてきた「Synapse Club」を発展的に解消し、シナプスの分子レベルでの働きを理解することによって神経回路や正常・異常脳機能を理解することを目指しています。Stanford大学医学部、神経生物学部のみでなくUCSFやUCSDなど近隣の大学の神経科学研究者が集っていました。今回の他のSpeakerはKang Sheng, Christian Rosenmund, Lu Chen, Julia Lalitsschmidt, Li Gan, Sue Ackerman博士です。

留学にあたり竹尾さんの送別会（写真はこちら）を行いました。Stanford大学Liqun Luo研です。充実した留学生活をお祈りします。

本年度の脳科学オリンピック（Brain Bee)候補生5名に対して柚崎研にて講義と実習（プリズム適応・パッチクランプ・共焦点顕微鏡にて神経細胞観察・Rotorodテスト）を行いました。とても鋭い質問をしてくる高1－高3の学生たちに接して、日本の脳科学研究も明るいと思いました。奥村先生、引率有り難うございました。

OISTにて3月14－15日の2日間行われたMini Symposium: Synapses and Circuits — Development and Functionにて柚崎がTalkを行いました。SpeakerはXiaoqin Wang (John Hopkins), Dan Sanes (NYU), Yoko Yazaki-Sugiyama (OIST), Daniela Vallentin (Freie Universitat), Keiko Tanaka-Yamamoto (KIST), Wen-Biao Gan (Skirball, NYU), Hisashi Umemori (Harvard), Michisuke Yuzaki (Keio), Peter Scheiffele (Biozentrum), Yimin Zou (UCSD)でした。自由で活発なScientific Discussionを楽しみました。

平成30年3月5日-6日にUK-Japan Neuroscience SymposiumがLondonのRoyal Societyにて行われました。本シンポジウムは、AMEDとMRC（Medical Research Council）が署名した共同研究についての覚書に基づくものです。日英の大学、研究機関、研究支援機関、民間企業等より約90名が参加し発表とパネルディスカッションが行われました。柚崎は東大岩坪先生、理研合田先生とともに日本側のorgnizerを務めました。柚崎研関係者としては、鈴木君、そして電通大の松田君が口頭発表を行いました。写真はIci。

Dr. George J. Augustine (Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine, NTU, Singapore) gave a talk entitled “Molecular Mechanisms of Short-term Synaptic Depression” at the 124th Brain Club.

Dr. Samuel Young (Molecular Auditory Research Department of Anatomy and Cell Biology, Department of Otolaryngology, University of Iowa) gave a talk, entitled “Uncovering the molecular mechanisms of presynaptic active zone protein regulation of neurotransmitter release” at the 123rd Brain Club.

第122回Brain Clubを 洲崎 悦生 先生(東京大学大学院医学研究科 システムズ薬理学分野)をお招きして行いました。タイトルは「CUBIC：多細胞システムの理解に向けたセルオミクスパイプライン」です。

第121回 Brain Club Seminarを野村寿博 先生（Department of Physiology, Northwestern University）をお招きして行いました。タイトルは「Aberrant GABA signaling in the developing sensory cortex in fragile X syndrome」でした。ほかの写真はIci。

A new review on Synaptic Organizers “Two Classes of Secreted Synaptic Organizers in the Central Nervous System”  has been published in Annual Review of Physiology.
