Welcome to Yuzaki Lab

・Yuzaki Laboratory has been relocated to the Center for Human biology - Microbiota - Quantum Computational Research (Keio University)WPI-Bio2Q.。

In addition to the central nervous system、focusing on synaptic formation mechanisms in the peripheral, autonomic and enteric nervous system、we aim to clarify the linkage between the nervous system and multiple organs, and the pathology caused by its failure, and to develop new treatments.。

The results of Assistant Professor Suzuki and others were published in Science magazine.

Synapses, which are places for information transmission between nerve cells, are formed by proteins called synapse organizers.、Responsible for precise control of memory and movement。In this study、Based on the structure of synapse organizer proteins、we designed an artificial synapse organizer、and have developed an artificial synapse connector CPTX that can connect excitatory synapses in a wide range of the nervous system.。.、.、When CPTX is administered to the causative region of disease model mice caused by synaptic disruption such as Alzheimer's disease, or spinal cord injury、Reduced synapses recover within a few days、Found to significantly improve the condition。This research was the first successful achievement in the design of artificial synaptic connectors and their application to diseases.。Depending on the design of the artificial synapse connector, it is possible to control various types of neural circuits.、It is expected to lead to basic research and future therapeutic applications for psychiatric and neurological disorders.。For the summary,Click here. 。
This is an international joint research between Japan, the UK and Germany.、Dr. Hiroyuki Sasakura of Aichi Medical University、Professor Tsunesei Takeuchi、Dr. Elegheert, MRC Institute for Molecular Biology, UK、Professor Aricescu、Dr. Song of the German Center for Neurodegenerative Diseases、It is the result of the research with Professor Dityatev and his group.。Also、Assistant Professor Suzuki Kondo、Lecturer Keiko Matsuda、Associate Professor Wataru Kakegawa、Researcher Eriko Miura、Assistant Professor Shintaro Otsuka、 Former medical student Tatsuya Shimada、and many other researchers of our lab have contributed to this work。
